MEET ME AT THE MAILBOX!!

The day finally came…My mission call arrived! It started out like every other day I have had the last few weeks: staying up late the night before, waking up late the next morning, and trying to stay busy with things before I had to work. It had been a little over 3 weeks since I submitted my papers into President Clare. I was hoping that this Wednesday would be THE Wednesday different from the previous two weeks.

I was excited all morning. Thoughts of where I would go, people I would meet, and experiences I would have consumed my brain. I had my call sent to my parents house, because I knew if I had it sent to my Apt. I would rip that thing open the second I got my hands on it. This was my way of having “self-control” I jokingly told people if they wanted to witness me open my Mission call they would have to “meet me at the mailbox!”

I was constantly texting my mom and having her check the mail. I wanted to know the minute the letter with my name on it got there. Even though I knew the mailman doesn't swing by our house ‘til about 3:00 pm, I was hoping for a mail delivery miracle! Looking back I realize it was another lesson on having patience…looks like I still need some work with that one! ;)

After receiving a call from Lexi, informing me that there was a big white envelope with Sister Marble’s name on it. I frantically looked for someone to cover my shift at Costa Vida.  After getting back into the clothes that will forever smell like Mexican food, I had given up hope, I didn't think tonight would be the night that I found out where I would be living for the next 18 months.

After what seemed like the longest 2 hours of my life they let me go home early, I think I was because of my good behavior J
I called my Dad as I sprinted back to my apartment. The cars passing must have thought I was crazy! I gathered everybody from my apartment that wanted to come watch me open my call. They were surprised when I told them we can all fit in my parent’s car.

When the MORMON ATTACK VEHICLE pulled up we all piled in and headed down to Salem. I was breathless when we went up the driveway, not sure if it was out of excitement or the fact that I had just ran home from work.

I walked into my house it was full of Friends and Family, who were just as excited as I was. I was in a daze, although I was excited to see them all, I was there for one thing and one thing only.
FINALLY I HAD MY HANDS ON IT!

I opened it, in big bold letters the first page said:

Sister Marble,
You are called to serve in the…

Wait for it…
WAIT  FOR IT …

PROVO UT MISSION

My heart Dropped! Why would President play a prank at a time like this?  I started searching for the real letter. It wasn't ‘til after everybody started laughing that I realized it wasn't President Monson playing the prank…It was my family!! My brother pulled an identical envelope from behind his back.
THERE SHOULD BE SOME KIND OF COMMANDMENT AGAINST FORGING A MISSION CALL!!
Hoping this was the last time I open MY CALL tonight, I grab it from my little brother. I couldn't keep the tears back as I read that I would be serving in Sao Paulo Brazil. I thought “is this another joke.” I didn't believe I was going to go to Brazil. As I read on I learned that I would speak Portuguese, and that I would leave for the MTC in Brazil on April 24th, 2013. A sudden confirmation fell over me; I knew this was where the Lord needed me. None of the other places I use to think of even felt right. This was my “DREAM” mission; this is where I wanted to be. Nothing could wipe the smile off my face. That moment was worth the wait. I am looking forward to serving the people of Sao Paulo Brazil, and being an instrument in the Lord’s Hands.

This is how I choose to spend my days...

I recently got a fitbit (if you don't have one you are missing out!) it measure how many flight of stairs you do, how many steps you take, all the calories you burn and it also tells the time. people I am telling you it is AWESOME!

I spend my day randomly running up the                  stairs!

I have found a new obsession….WHITE COLLAR!!! Not to mentions the ever so handsome MATT BOMER!

I spend my day watching white collar

"we have Zion to build"

My heart is so full right now after just returning from Edu. Week. Lexi let my use her pass for tonight and I am so thankful she did.
the night started off with Ryan Sharp's class who is actually my Brother-in-laws cousin. He mostly talked about Trusting Jesus. and quoted Howard W. Hunter:
"OUR MOST DEADLY CONTEST IN LIFE IS NOT WITH HUMAN ENEMIES"
that is so true, we are at war but it is not a physical war.

He them went on to say "just like a physical war. People will get hurt, people will be wounded. the word of God has the power to heal those people!"
tpart on the Armor of God is the Sword, which represents the WORD OF GOD.
" the word of God will land you on the right Hand of God!"
 Scriptures he mentioned
Alma 43
Ephesians 6:14-17
Alma 31:5
in Alma 31:5 mentions that we should Try the virtue of the word of God. (we need to make reading the scriptures a habit)

We then went to Wally's Class
his topic was "repentance is the essence of growth" 2 Nephi 2:21

"When God heals a part of our souls, He  doesn't leave any empty holes...he finds a way to fill them."
he talked about how repentance is a sacred Gift from God that we shouldn't take lightly.

if we make ourselves humble-God will make us CLEAN!

THE NEXT CLASS ROCKED MY WORLD!!!!!

lesson by: SCOTT ANDERSON

these are the notes I Wrote down
Moroni 3:5
Ponder how Merciful God Has has been!
he told a story about this Lady that Quit her job so that she could spend time with her sons. In one of her journal entries she wrote " I just don't feel like I hug my boys enough.( she had all teenage boys)
and everyday after that she would begin her entries by writing Hugged them ALL. later she found out that she has cancer. Scott Anderson went on to say that he visited her in the hospital and that he was sad that this happened to a dear friend. She could tell he was down and went on to say "is everything okay you seem down", and he replied saying he was sad for her.  her response to his sorrow was: "do you know what happens when you loose your hair.....you also loose your eyebrows. with loosing your eyebrows every time you sweat it goes straight to your eyes.... Scott when was the last time we where thankful for your eyebrows"

he really took that to heart, everyday he found something new to be thankful for that he didn't think about. such as bending elbows and other. he was taught a great lesson of gratitude for her that day.

" NEVER BE THANKFUL ENOUGH"

He asked us
what are you doing here in 2012?
what personal experiences have you had to prepare you for this day?

we may not know exactly why we are here at this moment, we are here to serve and bless the lives of the people around us.

he pointed out to us when Jesus was on earth he would touch the sick BEFORE he would heal them.

if we promise now, he can give us gifts now trusting we will keep our promise.

at times we have to go through trials and then we will understand why.

he also told a story about a Returned Missionary that wasn't  getting much out of church and wanted to figure out why.
one day on the way to church he asked himself "why would the savior go to church?
he realized that he was going with the wrong attitude.

the Savior would go to church to GIVE.
we need to go to church with that same attitude. '

We have ZION TO BUILD!!!

we will never get back without our SAVIOR, we are a team with him.

I know this church is true and I am so thankful that I had this opportunity, I was incredible.

I am sorry if none of that made sense, I strongly ENCOURAGE everyone to go to Education Week next year!
                           Love,
                                       ME

Dear "John"

Dear "John"
I hope the money that you scammed from me is worth it, please don't waste my hard earned cash on just drugs. the car is wonderful and I hope the repair isn't to expense. thank you for the lesson you taught me today. I now understand the true meaning of honesty and forgiveness. although I had to learn this lesson from you the hard way I am glad it is learned. I hope this never happens to anybody else because of you. Thank you for the fun memories my family made. We really enjoy finding out that you don't answer your phone, your real name isn't John, that your apartment we picked the car up from wasn't yours, the title signature was forged, your criminal record, and a whole bunch of random stuff about you. we had fun with it, and made us feel like true detectives.
                                                                                     From,
                                                                                           Me!

New blog...first post!

well....I don't know what I am getting myself into.  I believe that if you have a blog you are like obligated to have a fun full of adventure life. SO either I will have to shape up and do something fun with my life or this blog is going to be a complete FAIL!!

today (after a long hard thought process) I decided to be cool. I have now added pink jean to my colorful jean collection, seeing that I doubled that collection I am doing pretty good! my mustard yellow pants are no longer alone!

Be ready for some blogs if I feel worthy to post them!
                                                                                                     LOVE,
                                                                                                               ME.
